MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla who was rushed to the St. Luke’s Medical Center has died. Senator Revilla who was detained at the Philippine National Police-Custodial Center (PNP-CC) at Camp Crame for plunder charges, was taken to the hospital yesterday morning for a an undetermined ailment.
Revilla first rushed to the PNP General Hospital at Camp Crame at around 9 a.m. for vomiting, severe headache and hypertension. Physicians who earlier attended to him recommended that he be transferred to a private hospital.
“On board a police ambulance, he arrived at St. Luke’s,” the PNP-Public Information Office said, adding Revilla immediately underwent an X-ray examination and would stay in the private hospital for further test and treatment.
It was not the first time for Revilla to complain of migraine. In 2014, Revilla had a severe migraine attack on second day of his detention due to the intense heat in his cell.
Revilla and former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada were facing plunder charges before the Sandiganbayan in connection with the Priority Development Assistance Fund or pork barrel scam.
