CONFIRMED: FIFA Relocates Headquarters to Trinidad and Tobago

Football governing body, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) today announced a planned relocation of their Head Office from Zurich, Switzerland to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago by the end of June 2017.

The body was founded in 1904 to oversee international competition among the national associations of Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland is now made up of 211 member associations.

According the release by FIFA’s Secretary Fatma Samoura, the body has already acquired land in Port of Spain to build an ultra-modern building which would become the new Headquarters of the Body. “After careful deliberations with the Technical Committee on Planning and Administration on the most suitable city for the relocation, they settled on Port of Spain out of the 20 Cities that were under consideration” the statement said.
